MZB takes over Café Montaña

Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group strengthens its position in Costa Rica by acquiring the coffee roaster Café Montaña S.A. based in Alajuela, a suburb of the capital city of San José.
 
The group continues in its international expansion, widening its distributing network in the American continent by adding to its structure a new roasting company leader in its market that operates in both the retail and foodservice markets through products of high quality and having among its customers giants like Wal-Mart Costa Rica.
 
The care in selecting and processing the beans, coming only from the Costa Rican highlands, is permanently taken under control by strict Quality Control and Environmental procedures, that have brought Café Montaña S.A. to get the two important certifications: ISO 9001 and Bandera Ecológica “AA”.
 
Through this new acquisition, the Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group has also further expanded its wide portfolio of fully owned coffee brands.
In fact four new brands regarding lines of products produced and marketed by the company have been added to the well known Hills Bros., Chock Full o’Nuts, MJB, Meira, Tiktak, Segafredo Zanetti, just to mention only a few of them:

 Café Montaña

 Café Oma

 Café Sierra Madre

 Café Montico

            


The acquisition is part of a plan aimed at strengthening and further develop the group presence in the Central American country, that is an historical producer of high quality green coffees since 1796, where it has already built up solid roots since years through the two well established subsidiary companies just operating in this strategic market sector: Beneficio La Eva and Santa Laura Exportadora de Café.
