President Massimo ZanettiLast November, 13th Massimo Zanetti inaugurated Sintercafé 2009, event that has been held annually in Costa Rica for 23 years and that welcomed more than 500 participants from all over the world.
 
Sintercafé has become a tradition to the leading coffee operators world-wide. For the first time since 1986 the event left San José and moved to Guanacaste, enchanting region located in the north-west of the country.
 
In his opening speech Massimo Zanetti, President of the Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group counting in Costa Rica some of the more than 40 subsidiaries it is made of, touched on various topics related both to his long-lasting international experience and, more specifically, to his future vision of the coffee business.
 
President Massimo ZanettiAs to the latter, Mr. Zanetti firmly believes that an intensive development of coffee plantations aimed at satisfying the growing worldwide demand should be considered as important as the capacity to maintain high-level quality standards and to keep pace with the continuously changing requirements of the leading markets: Food service, Retail, OCS, Vending.
 
In this way coffee’s role as primary food & beverage product will be preserved on to future generations, thus leading to new and greater cultivation development opportunities that are favoring the economies of  the coffee producing countries as well as improving the quality of life of thousand families working around coffee.
 
The President’s speech received many statements of appreciation by all conference participants.
 
Among the exhibitors that attended the event was Santa Laura Exportadora de Café, a company belonging to the Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group, that presented the brand new line of green coffees coming from Costa Rica, launched worldwide just recently.
