Massimo Zanetti Beverage USA, Inc. has acquired from the Sara Lee Corporation a highly specialized gourmet foodservice coffee business that will add more than $150 million in annual revenue to MZB’s overall portfolio.
The business is supported by a roasting and packaging facility located in the Borough of Moonachie, Bergen County, New Jersey along with an experienced and dedicated workforce of 115 employees.  Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.
Today’s acquisition will expand Massimo Zanetti Beverage USA’s total food service coffee business to more than 125 million pounds.  “Through this acquisition, we broaden our capabilities and capacity to roast and package high quality gourmet coffees for current and future food service customers,” said John Boyle, COO Massimo Zanetti Beverage USA.
Massimo Zanetti Beverage USA is headquartered in Portsmouth, Va., and is a subsidiary of the privately held Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group, one of the world’s largest, fully vertically integrated coffee companies.  As a result of this acquisition the group will increase its global coffee production to more than 330 million pounds, supported by a workforce of greater than 3,000 employees operating in over 100 countries.
